VernX is an original action puzzle maze game that utilizes the accelerometer to control sand like particles that move accordingly by the tilt. The red particles move so fluidly like water it’s almost like art.

VernX was built from the ground up with a custom game engine. Interact with up to two hundred and twenty moving objects on the screen at any given time with a constant frame rate.
Gamplay
The objective of the game to move all 50 red particles from point A to point B. Guide all the particles at once with the accelerometer as you work your way through the obstacle filled maze. Along the way you will run into yellow particles through out the mazes that can be collected to unlock the sand box levels.
Some obstacles slows the particles down, moving rectangular and square blocks will crush the particles back to the starting point if your not careful, don’t forget the acid walls that also sends the particles back to spawn.
VernX level designs are creative and at the same time challenging and fun. You won’t get bored at any levels and after finishing each level you have this great feeling of accomplishment.
The game will get out of control if you don’t command the particles, or else the particles will be flying everywhere in the maze. The difficulty of each stage increases as you unlock level after level.
Another game mode is the sandbox mode. Basically it’s a free style mode where you can play with the particles for fun. Here you can further explore the game physics and fluidity of the particle movements. It can also be very relaxing.
Controls
VernX controls are very intuitive utilizing the iPods accelerometer controls. You can also calibrate it in the options menu. The core of the game is the controls, this what makes VernX great.
Graphics
Four different skins are available in the option mode. The graphics are simple and solid, the simplicity never takes away from the game. The navigation will be later updated in later updates to so look forward for that.
Sound
The game features no background music so prepare for some awkward silences when you have one particle that needs to reach the end of the level, but the sound effects in the game add a nice touch to the game.
Replay Value
The game features 30 challenge levels and 15 sandboxes. Once all the levels are unlocked you can go back and collect all the gold particles that you miss or try to beat your old time for each level. All the level can be unlocked in 3 or 4 hours of dedicated time.
The developers also informed me that they will be adding 15 more levels, and iPod music access is in the works. So the developers are not turning back on their creation and further improving the game. Also a lite version will be out too for a test run.
Conclusion
VernX is a refreshing game with all the tower defense games, shooters and clones on the App Store. The physics, controls and graphics make the game very memorable. The truth is out VernX gets a score of 8 out of 10. Get it!
